I spend a lot of my time explaining to people that GriffinEd isn’t about teaching music, but is instead a program for teaching STEM and other subjects using music as a fun and effective tool. This is an important distinction for a variety of reasons; one of them is that GriffinEd does NOT replace actual music instruction. If you want to know why everyone– yes, including you– needs to study an instrument, please watch this short video. I don’t care if you play at a professional level, I don’t care how old you are, and I definitely don’t care how much or little talent you think you’ve got; that stuff only matters if you expect to get paid for it. The benefits to your physical and mental health have been proven over and over. Just as non-athletes still need exercise, everyone who wants to keep their body and brain healthy should be working with music for at least a few minutes every day.
