Happy New Year! Sorry, nothing new yet.
Yeah, I know it’s February now but we tend to run a little behind here at Griffin Education world headquarters, so we’ve decided to observe the Chinese New Year instead. To celebrate, I’ve been trying all week to get some new songs uploaded and posted for you but the internet gnomes appear to be messing with my files again. I need to have a sit-down with my web guys next week and get this ironed out; meanwhile I’ll tell you about what we’re TRYING to do around here for 2014…
The next album, Over The Edge, is nearly done. I’ve been listening to some of the work Jeff and his friends have been doing and I am amazed at how much better it all sounds when actual, you know, musicians are doing it. We should have CD’s in hand sometime in March, but in the meantime we’re going to start posting audio tracks in the Uncollected section of the site. Once we figure out exactly how to do that.
In fact, that’s one of the main things we’ve got going for 2014: once we get the ball rolling we’ll try to get a new recording of something posted EVERY WEEK. It won’t always be a spanking-new song; it may be a live version of an old song, for example.
Furthermore, it won’t always be a song I wrote. Some of my friends in the filk community have very generously offered to let me use their music for the project. If you’re interested, contact me. I can pay you royalties, at least for the CD’s.
Anyway, please check back in a week or so and we’ll see if we can get this ball rolling!
