Saving Water
by Ms. Mota’s class
Payne Residency Songs

To the tune of “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes”

I went into the garden with a hose (with a hose)
And then my mama said to wash the clothes (wash the clothes)
I brushed my teeth with my toothbrush and toothpaste
But I left the water running, what a waste!

Now I plant my yard with native flowers (native flowers)
I always try to take a quicker shower (quicker shower)
And when I wash my dishes or my clothes
I always try to do a full load!

And when we are paving a new street (a new street)
From now on we’ll use permeable concrete (-ble concrete)
We all need water to cook and wash and drink
We’ll have to learn to slow, spread, and sink!
