Happy New Year

Welcome to 2013! I’ve been relaxing with family and friends in Sun Valley, Idaho, but after successfully avoiding work for a few weeks I’m getting ready to head back to GriffinEd World Headquarters in La Canada, CA.

January should be pretty exciting. I have three shows next week (!), we’re finally getting moving on the rebuild of this website, and there are some interesting musical irons in the fire. You may notice we’ve had to temporarily disable the downloads while we do the rebuild. Meanwhile the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), the science counterpart to the new Common Core Math Standards, is getting closer to its final version so I hope to start correlating my science music to a national standard for each grade level. The long-term goal there is to create a full-service online library of educational music, searchable by subject and grade level.

The to-do list for 2013 is about ten miles long: write songs, lose weight, play guitar, do shows, keep developing the writing workshops, finish some vocal arrangements, finally getting the home studio up and running after a small fire in our house, promote the third album, start recording the FOURTH album, solicit donors, get moving on grant applications… Whew! I’d better get started.
